Berkeley Electric Cooperative (BEC) is a member-owned electric cooperative serving Berkeley County and parts of Charleston and Dorchester Counties. Cooperatives differ from investor-owned utilities in ownership structure — members vote on the board — but operationally provide similar residential electric service.
BEC runs its own residential efficiency programs separate from Dominion Energy SC's. Programs historically include rebates for heat pumps, heat-pump water heaters, smart thermostats, and weatherization. Members should check BEC's program portal for current incentives, which change yearly.
If you're a BEC member, you can stack BEC rebates with federal IRA 25C tax credits.
